The Cattron Laser Collision Avoidance System (LCAS) helps protect overhead cranes, hoists and other industrial equipment from costly collisions and unplanned downtime. Using retroreflective Class-1 laser technology, the LCAS continuously monitors the distance between moving equipment and surrounding structures, triggering configurable warning and stop outputs when preset distances are reached.
Designed for demanding industrial environments, the LCAS provides operators with advanced warning before contact occurs, allowing time to take corrective action and improving overall operational safety. The system can detect targets at distances up to 50 meters (164 feet) with highly accurate distance discrimination down to 3 mm (0.12 inches).
The LCAS is ideal for overhead crane applications where multiple cranes operate on the same runway, as well as for protecting end walls, stationary equipment and restricted operating zones. A simple push-button configuration lets users easily program custom alarm and stop distances to match application requirements.
Built with a rugged NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosure, the LCAS features LED status indicators, continuous circuit-fault monitoring, and selectable alarm and stop outputs for reliable operation. Additional features, such as an internal bypass switch and optional low-temperature heater, provide added flexibility for industrial installations.
