Cattron-Theimeg JS (Joystick) Controllers
are perfect for heavy industrial applications. Designed with the
operator in mind, these heavy-duty controllers are ideal for indoor
and outdoor use. JS controllers can be used in a wide variety of
industrial environments, such as mining, rail operations, and steel
fabrication.
Cattron-Theimeg's Joystick controllers
employ advanced microcomputer electronics and utilize surface mount
technology. They can be used with all Cattron-Theimeg AT Series
or MP Series receiver/ decoder units. JS controllers will operate
with existing systems as either replacements or as spare controllers.
A variety of synthesized and crystal-controlled RF transmitter configurations
can be provided with these controllers, allowing for operation in
the VHF and UHF licensed and non-licensed radio channels.
Durable Construction
Cattron-Theimeg's JS controllers have
highly advanced encoder circuit boards which are built using industrial
grade components, powerful microcomputers, and sophisticated operating
software. These controllers are high quality units, both inside
and out. The housing that surrounds and protects the electronic
circuitry is made of thick-walled extruded aluminum, which has a
hard, epoxy-coated exterior. The ends of the housing are urethane-coated
plates that make shock absorbing end "bumpers" and switch guards.
Only the highest quality joysticks, buttons, and switches are used.
Their reliability and construction have been field-tested and proven
under extreme conditions. Total water and dust sealing makes them
suitable for indoor and outdoor operation.
Joystick Operation
When the operator first turns the power
switch on, a sophisticated Power-On-SeIf-Test (POST) routine analyzes
all critical switch inputs to detect unwanted commands in the system.
The speaker will beep, and the green light will flash, indicating
the test is complete and all is okay.
JS controllers have room for a variety
of control switch combinations, including joysticks, toggle switches
and/or pushbuttons. Functions are custom engineered to suit end-user
preferences. Stepped and stepless (proportional) joysticks are available.
All switches are arranged according to the user's requirements and
identified by durable, custom-engraved faceplates.
Cattron-Theimeg joystick controllers
are equipped with tilt switches. These switches are used to activate
diagnostics and can be optionally programmed to send functions.
These functions can be assigned in the decoder for a variety of
operations, e.g., to stop the equipment, sound an alarm, broadcast
a "Man Down" alarm or all.
Power Source
Cattron-Theimeg JS controllers are powered
with disposable Alkaline or rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries. In normal
operation, a green LED blinks with each function command message.
For added safety and improved performance, the operating voltage
is regulated over the entire battery life, insuring constant range
and reliable operation. When the battery voltage becomes low, the
green LED will change to red, and a beeping sound will alert the
operator that the battery needs to be changed or recharged.
